Active wear sales have boomed, with more and more people wearing the apparel everyday.

With the fashion craze sparking increasing popularity due to our busy lifestyles; I have certainly succumbed to the idea of looking stylish in my gym gear wearing it; even if I am not going to the gym. It gives me (and I am sure others) the opportunity to feel comfortable no matter what I am doing, whether it is doing the grocery shopping or meeting a friend for coffee at a cafe.

Wearing gym gear also sends a message that you are a fitness junkie living a healthy lifestyle. There is nothing more appealing than looking healthy and making this apparent to everyone you come by.

But never fear, with the trend being extremely acceptable; clothing companies have designed pieces that are not only appropriate for the gym but also fashionable and flattering. Leading sports brands including Nike and Adidas have joined forces with big name designers such as Stella McCartney to make active wear fashionable. Within the past decade, many other brands have hit the market including 2XU, Lululemon and Lorna Jane.

This fashion forward craze has opened up the market to mainstream labels who are beginning to offer active wear in their range. Sportsgirl, H&M, Cotton On and Top Shop have designed their own range that can be purchased in store and online to keep up with the demanding trends.
