Some might say Star Wars has never been 'out' of fashion, although now is a good a reason as any to rekindle your love for George Lucas' all time favourite Sci-fi serious with Rodarte's Fall 2014 Collection of Star Wars ball gowns seen on the runway of NYC Fashion Week.

Rodarte's flowing frocks range from light grey C3P0 / R2D2, pale yellow Luke Skywalker, jet black Death Star and Yoda, to a purple backdrop for the twin suns of Tatooine. Each gown could undoubtedly pass as Oscar-worthy for those in touch with their inner-geek.

Each floor length gown features large printed characters and images from the original trilogy on the bottom half of each piece.
Rodarte's designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy created their collection with approval of George Lucas and Disney, although Star Wars fans might be a little disappointed to hear their magnificent designs will not be available to buy, gowns will only be available for photo shoots and exhibitions.
Due to the success of the show, maybe we will see a rise in Star Wars fashion on the high street in the near future? Let's hope it is done as tastefully as Rodarte.
