Everyone has a grunge side to them, but what are the staples of the winter grunge look?

Check out these essential six staples to pull off the grunge look for winter.

Jackets and Coats

Oversize parkas are coming in this winter season for the ultimate grunge look. Go for darker shades of purple, green, grey or block black. If you want to make your grunge look a little more "rock" orientated, mix it up with a biker jacket, making it perfect for an evening out.

Tops

Over sized tops are perfect for the grunge look and printed tees, or if you're wanting to go old school, choose old band t-shirts as these are a grunge staple.

Jeans

Go for a comfy pair of skinny jeans. Choose dark shades of blue, grey or go all out with black. A lot of people think of grunge and they think tears. Don't worry, you don't need to take a pair of scissors to your favourite pair of skinny jeans to achieve the grunge look.

Boots

Black combat boots are perfect for the grunge look. You can choose lace up or buckle depending on personal preferences. Combat boots are not just for men, they come in a variety of lengths and styles to suit everyone's tastes.

Matching scarf and beanie

Scarves generally don't come into mind when you think of the grunge look. If you're looking to wear a scarf with your outfit to keep warm and cosy, choose bulky block coloured scarves. Thick synthetic woollen scarves. They look great with loose kitted matching beanies.

Complete the look...

Let your hair down and your locks flow. The grunge look is not about "perfection." Pair this with smokey eye make-up and some clear lip gloss; or if heading out for the evening a striking red lipstick is a must. Then you're set and ready to go.
