DIY Glitter Stockings

They sparkle, and on that you sparkle too. Glitter stockings give any short denim or leather skirt some spark. Then again, you don't have to be a short plain skirt person to wear some glitter glamour on your pantyhose either. Whether you're dressing up for a party, or you want to add some more shimmer and sparkle to your everyday; the following steps on making your own DIY glitter stockings is gold, no pun intended.

How to make your own glitter stockings:

Firstly, have your pair of stockings and/or pantyhose ready. It does not matter what colour pantyhose you decide to use. Black, purple and beige are awesome with some gold glitter.

Ensure you have a bottle of gentle adhesive spray with you. Go to your local hardware store and ask for advice; otherwise any crafts store should assist.

Of course, have a bottle of glitter ready. The brand of glitter I highly recommend is Martha Stewart's. You can also buy her stuff on eBay occasionally.

Now that you have your necessities checked off, you need to lay out your pantyhose on an old sheet/cloth. The next step is to gently spray the adhesive onto your pantyhose from top to bottom. You only need to follow this on each side once.

You must apply the glitter immediately. Just sprinkle it on liberally - no holding back. Apply as quickly as you can. Why? You don't want the adhesive spray to dry before you get a chance to apply your glitter.

After following the above process, you need to shake any excess glitter off your stockings, ensuring that the excess glitter stays on the old soft cloth underlay. Shake gently in a salt shaker like motion. Then you need to stick one of your hands inside your stockings to get rid of any excess glitter again.

Now flip over your stockings, and voila, rinse and repeat this process for the other side.

Hot tip: Follow and complete this process at least one hour before you want to wear your glitter panty hose sensation. Whether you wish to wear your brand new panty hose with high heels or ballet flats, you will still sparkle. No holding back on the quality glitter.
