The Natural Hair Trend

The natural hair trend has been growing over the past couple of years in the afro-caribbean community.

Companies like 'mixed chicks' and 'Africa's best' have released products which claim to soften the most unruly afro hair and tame bushy curls, but the end goal is a celebration of your natural look.

I have embraced my natural curls, and since January this year I have shunned the straightening irons in favour of my natural, unprocessed look.

It seems those with European hair are embracing their inner waves too, because I've noticed my friends who have Arabic and Spanish roots have stopped straightening their hair too.

Natural hair has been all over the catwalk, and Marc Jacobs as well as Anna Sui sent models down their catwalks with curled, and wavy hair.

I say embrace your natural look, it is terribly on-trend...
