White Shirts Now
I am forever searching for the perfect white shirt, from the material, to the cut and style, I can never have enough. Here are a few which have caught my eye this season, and which work for every figure.
The relaxed fit makes Whistles’ Lizzy silk shirt seriously comfortable. It looks best worn loose – you can show off the scoop hem – but the fine silk means it can also be tucked into trousers without causing weird hip bulging and is very flattering for big busts. Dry clean only. Lizzy silk shirt, £125, Whistles.
London-based The Fold has just launched its Soho White Shirt capsule collection, designed to offer the perfect fit for every woman and every occasion. The Wooster has a Utilitarian cut, straight fit and neat buttoned cuffs. The darts around the neck lend it a tidy finish and it’s machine washable. The Wooster shirt, £119, The Fold
Sleeveless is something to consider during the warmer months. This one, which also comes in black, offers a flattering, subtly fitted cut and armholes that neither over-expose nor pinch. Rayon volume sleeveless blouse, £19.90, Uniqlo
This is the shirt to throw on as you dash out for Sunday lunch (read: you lost your keys, found them on the fridge and you’re in a bit of a tis). It has a relaxed fit, looks brilliant with jeans or shorts and the bib detail means it needs no dressing up. A good length for tall bodies.Silk eyelet bib top, £148, J Crew.
Now there's no need to pick up the same, slim-fit, long sleeved shirt which you wear with everything; mix it up and enjoy the variety of the high street.
